DINNER AT THE BOOKING OFFICE | ST PANCRAS LONDON

We recently visited The Booking Office at St. Pancras Renaissance for what I believe was the best steak I have ever had.

We flagged down a black cab on Shoreditch High Street – literally. This being the first time I have ever flagged down a cab in London. Can you believe it? I left that job down to the Mr.

And headed towards Kings Cross.

Euston Road, London, NW1 2AR

I had high expectations for this meal. Knowing just how grand the Renaissance is on the outside and inside (from my spa day there). It did not disappoint.

We arrived and stepped into the grand entrance with the highest ceilings and stone surroundings.

Wearing; Silk Blazer // Skinny Jeans // Barely there sandals

The dress code for the Booking Office is casual. With it being a Friday night in London I wanted to wear something I felt comfortable in and heels that I could wear in the day.

We were sat on a table for two in the middle of the restaurant. The lighting was low, the chatter was high and the mood of the evening was set with a live female singer.

For starters we went for;

Hand-Cut Steak Tartare £9

Capers, mustard, cornichons,
on toasted sourdough

H. Forman & Son
London Smoked Scottish Salmon

£11

Keta caviar, roasted heirloom beetroot, pickled
shallot, dill, chardonnay vinaigrette

All sipped down with a bottle of White wine.

The service was impeccable. With waiters filling our glasses with more delicious white wine each time our glasses looked low. Offering their best and very right opinions on each dish.

For mains we both went for;

Fillet 220g at £36

With a side of Triple Cooked Chips, Savoy Cabbage and Suffolk Pancetta, Bone Marrow Mash, with both peppercorn and béarnaise.

It was the best steak I have ever had. Perfectly cooked to our specifications. I would recommend the Peppercorn sauce with the steak – and do not forget the triple cooked chips – AH-MAZING.

Mains complete, the  choice of desserts was upon us.

We chose one of their most iconic dishes;

Ladies Smoking Room £10

70% Guanaja chocolate mousse, smoked Ardberg 10 yrs milk chocolate cremeux,
caramel nut crunch, dacquaise biscuit, white chocolate sorbet

This dessert is brought out underneath a glass case, placed in front of you on the table, the glass casing is lifted up and removed.

Escaping and evaporating a grey cloud of smoke with a very strong smokey smell. The smokey taste is strong throughout.

A true dessert experience.

Brought out also with the story behind it. A card explaining all about The Smoking Room, really giving you a feel for the whole scenario.

A beautifully presented dessert;

Blackberry & Vanilla Cheesecake £8

Olive oil & rosemary consomme, blackberries, raspberry sorbet
