THE BLAKEMORE | LONDON

We arrived in true London style to the Blakemore – jumping out of a black cab.

A lovely man greeted us on the door and took us in to the grand lobby to check in.

The lobby takes you breath away. So much detail and just look at the chandeliers.

Just one more..

I had to rush off to London Fashion Week for my last day. So a quick outfit change and I was off.

I left the boy with his feet up on the sofa and the TV on.

I was so pleased to get back to the Blakemore after a long day in heels, back to our Junior Suite.

We were kindly invited down to dinner, so without a hesitation we got ready, dressed up and headed down.

The terrace restaurant is a very intimate setting with low lighting and candles on the tables.

We were shown to our reserved table by the window by the friendliest member of staff – she made us feel so welcome and comfortable.

For starters we had tomato mozzarella with a smoke aubergine créme and wild mushroom bruschetta. Swiftly followed by our mains.

I couldn’t come to London and not have a traditional fish and chips – English ale batter, mushy peas and hand cut chips.

The presentation was beautiful. Im a real sucker for presentation. It was placed on a dark brown board, with the chips stacked neatly on top of each other and the peas neatly to one side. The best fish and chips Ive ever had and thats from a girl from the seaside!

We also went for the rosemary and garlic marinated grilled lamb cutlets.

Served with a class of champagne on the side and wine highly recommend by the restaurant manager.

I had no idea how I was going to fit in dessert. Even my other half who is quite a big guy was full to the brim.

But when my warm sticky toffee pudding (highly recommend) was placed in front of me, there was no stopping me.

All wined and dined by the Blakemore we were so content our plans to head into London swiftly disappeared, instead we went for a little walk to rest ourselves and head back to the room.

By morning I was so thankful for our late checkout. I could have hit the snooze button hundred times more, but breakfast was calling…

All fed (again) we packed up and checked out.
