4 Postpartum Things I Wore

What I wore after giving birth was just as crucial as what I wore during my pregnancy

There were a lot of things I learnt during and after my first pregnancy.
For example that I would bleed for weeks after. It never crossed my mind that after nine months of not having a period that of course your body will make up for that after birth.
I also expected to get back into my pre pregnancy jeans.
I hear you all laughing already.

It wasn’t that I was worried about my weight or getting back into a certain pair of jeans, it was more my lack of common sense about what to expect postpartum.
4 weeks on, I am now in those jeans, but here are a few styles that helped before I got there.

KEEP YOUR MATERNITY JEANS OUT.

I didn’t think my maternity jeans would stay up after loosing my bump, but they did and they were the only jeans I wore for the first two weeks.

Here and here I am wearing maternity jeans postpartum but you would have no idea.

You can shop and read about my favourite maternity denim jeans in this post.

PAPERBAG TROUSERS.

These are a completely new style for me but I love them.
I was able to fit into these after three weeks and they were purchased in my normal size.

Whats great about these are they are high waisted, so they sit above my C-Section scar (read about my birth story here).

Here I am wearing the River Island Petite Green Paperbag Trousers with belt. The belt is a great added detail as it draws attention to your upper waist rather than your lower stomach too.

DRESSES.

Bohemian styled maxi dresses have also been a great item to throw on. I didn’t want to fall into a routine of baggy jumper and leggings so I made sure I tried different things.

LEGGINGS ARE STILL YOUR BEST FRIEND.

Im afraid it is true. Leggings will still be your best friend, especially for the first week and every day at home for the days after.
My favourite have been the River Island High Waisted Leggings. Again opting for high waisted made me feel more comfortable about my scar, but if you didn’t have C-Section you won’t have to worry about that.
