During the London Fashion Week madness Adam and me visited The May Fair Kitchen, situated inside the The May Fair Hotel. One side the kitchen, accompanied by The May Fair bar on the other side. It was our first visit to both the kitchen and bar, so was completely unaware of what to expect.

The May Fair is known for its luxury five star hotel, so I thought it was appropriate to dress up for the evening.

The atmosphere was very laid back, chatter was high and you really got a feel of City life. The Mediterranean food sure put a twist on things. The menu hosted an exquisite selection of Spanish and Italian small plates complimented with a delicious white wine.

The waiter recommended three or more dishes each. We started off with the Mediterranean Olives, with two Antipasti’s; the Italian antipasti selection with sun blushed tomato and olives and a trio of bruschetta. The small plates come out very quickly. As soon as you’ve finished one plate the next will be arriving to your Instagram worthy marbled table.

The Margherita Pizza with basil arrived next, along with the lobster risotto with cherry tomato and seared scallop.

For me dessert was my favourite.  The dessert menu is also accompanied by a selection of liqueurs recommend to go along with your desert. The dessert menu is small, with only a handful of desserts. But once the well presented plates appear in front of you – you can understand why.

Sugar coated doughnuts served with warm Rococo chocolate elixir and chocolate fondant with amaretti and vanilla bean ice cream. I wish I had filmed the cracking of the fondant as the warm chocolate insides poured onto the plate.

We finished off our evening by strolling onto The May Fair bar which hosted a live DJ and some pretty sweet cocktails. My favourite was The Socialite; Belvedere pink grapefruit vodka, passion fruit liqueur, Campari, pomegranate juice, mandarin and mint. Perfect. The atmosphere was lively, with a hustle and bustle of people standing at the bar. Seating options are available and if it hadn’t of been for such a manic few days we would have stayed on for the rest of the night.
