Back when we only had Blue, we would spend our weekends in country pubs with fires eating roast dinners and taking long walks.
I woke up this Sunday with the longing to do that again.
We called around some of our favourites to see if they had room for a table of four.
The Lantern Inn took us in…
The Lantern is a real British pub located in the Kentish countryside.
Through the doors and behind a heavy velvet curtain sits a warm and cosy inn, perfect for a Sunday roast.
Or some of the best pub food you can find
We had the option of two tables and snapped up the one that was hidden away in its own private room.
Log burning fires, wooden floors, rustic tables and candlelight
The atmosphere is perfect for a Sunday
Whilst we picked from the menu, Pollyanna shared her raisins with Daddy
I went for local reared local pork
The crispest potatoes, I recommend ordering extra
Adam chose, Kentish Beef
Both were swimming in gravy which is just how we like it
And Pollyanna shared off the both of us
The staff saw me snapping away and offered to take a photo of us all, which funny enough is quite rare
Blue was delighted with his servings too
When things at the table get a bit crazy, they have a bookcase full of games and books
If you’re there without kids, think monopoly by the fireplace.
Its the second time we’ve been and it never lets us down.
Next time I will try to get more photos of the whole bar, but it was a little too busy.
