Last weekend with the hottest weather on record we woke up bright and early, frantically threw towels and snacks into a bag and made our way to Botany Bay beach.
Botany Bay, is a small bay in Broadstairs on the South East coast.
One of seven in Broadstairs, and one of our favourites.
Hoping to arrive before the crowds and find the perfect spot.
And we did just that.
Pilled up high with all the necessities needed for a few hours at the beach with children.
Gone are the days when I could just grab a towel and bikini.

Low tide meant we could swing round to the right and find the perfect hidden spot.
Past the danger sign.

We skipped and hopped across the hot sand and through the crumbling cliffs.

Settling down just beind the cliff on the right ^
Inbetween the cliff tops, sheltering us from the wind.
Completely secluded, with no-one else around.

With our very own swimming pool.
Low tide means a longer walk to sea, but a run and splash for it will make it all the better.

I lay against the warm white cliffs, reading this months read ‘Where The Crawdads Sing‘

I recently started a book club, which I would love for you to join – click here to join.

Pollyanna and Daddy played catch as Alfie watched on.

It didn’t take long for us to cool down.
How adorable are Pollyanna and Alfie’s matching swimwear. I’ll link them below.

Cheery Swimsuit // Head Scarf
Cherry Swim Shorts // Yellow Baby Sunglasses
Red Check Bikini (old but linking some favourites below)

We spent the morning running from the sea to sand, playing in warmed up puddles that had been left behind from the sea.
If it wasn’t for Covid-19 we could have tried a surfing lesson – maybe next time.

Botany Bay is also great for their rock pools, which kept Pollyanna entertained for so long.

Perfect for the little adventurers.

As afternoon approached, we sat under our sun umbrella eating jam sandwiches and strawberries.
Followed by a well deserved snooze in the shade.

It wasn’t for long though, he was soon up and ready to go again.

We left just after 2pm, still nowhere near as busy as we had anticipated.
Our little spot stayed secluded.
We left the beach behind to head home and get ready for another adventure in the evening, which I will share tomorrow.
Please, don’t forget. If you are visiting any of the beach’s to take your rubbish with you.
