The Duke William, Ickham

We have been taking full advantage of the eat out, to help out scheme with Adam booking us up almost every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The weather outside may be frightful!

But I know somewhere quite delightful.

A little place through the winding fields, into the country side of Ickham.

Nestled between postcard cottages and fields, you will find The Duke William in Ickham, a true quintessential English pub.

We were sat in the conservatory, but I throughly recommend booking a table by the fire or in one of their cosy corners.

Cosy down by the fire with a nice glass of something sparkling and forget the world outside.

The menu is seasonal and local.

To start we nibbled on Olives and a board of sough dough with the tastiest salty butter.

In between courses, we coloured, practised Pollyanna’s writing along side lots of wedding talk and preparations.

For mains my fiancé opted for the burger with two beef patties, a glazed brioche bun, cheese ozzing down the sides, Frenchs and ketchup, pickles with a side of fries.

I went for the 28 day aged 10oz ribeye steak, with grilled tomato, juicy flat mushroom and what should have been beef dripping chips but much to my disappointment fries were served accidentally.

The jug of peppercorn sauce made up for it, so I just dipped the fries in there.

Not quite the same, but it worked.

Kids can have anything on the menu, it’s simply half the price and half the size.

Pollyanna chose ‘The Dirty Dog’.

A frankfurter with French fries, that came alongside the delicious crispy onions which we all had a helping off.

Almost full we couldn’t stop there.

Pollyanna insisted we had dessert.

And I had no complaints about that.

Cheesecake with local sourced strawberries for Mummy 🍓 and ice cream for the littles🍨

Keep an eye on your strawberries, they’ll be snapped up in a blink of an eye.

If you’re feeling to full to move, why not book a room upstairs and stay forever!

Wishful thinking for us, sadly.

We said farewell to the cosy blue pub and relished in the last of the sunshine outside.
