5 WAYS TO TRANSFORM YOUR HOME THIS SUMMER

Summer is fast approaching and with the longer days and sunny weather so are our dreams of holidays abroad.

If you can’t wait until then, don’t worry. It can be possible to bring a touch of the glamorous interiors of the finest hotels to your own home.

There are lots of exciting developments in the world of interior design that can rejuvenate your home and make you excited to come home in the evenings, rather than dreaming you were anywhere but here.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

BEDDING HEAVEN

Let’s be honest: the weekends were made for lie-ins. Don’t cheat yourself when it comes to luxury and ensure your bed is both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. No, there won’t be a maid knocking on your door for the turn-down service, but that doesn’t mean you have an excuse not to care about the odd lumps and bumps in your mattress. Now is the perfect time to treat yourself and make your bed somewhere you want to be. A fabric bed is ideal for summer as it’s cooler, perfect for those balmy evenings, and they are available in a wide range of colours and styles so there’s bound to be one that will be perfect for you!

A LITTLE GREENERY

Succulents are proving to be popular. Bring a little piece of the dessert to you with these low-maintenance potted plants. They come in a wide range of varieties of colours and shapes; some are flowering whilst others don’t. Pot them up and place them on the windowsill or on a spare shelf and instantly bring life to your home, they really couldn’t be easier to care for.

COPPER LOAD OF THIS

Copper accessories are hot, hot, hot right now. Grab your laptop and start searching the web for some. If you’re looking for something unique and hand-made there’s a wealth of options on sites like Etsy whilst if you’re on a budget the high street is starting to catch up with the trend, with lots offering a great selection of accessories to brighten up your interiors.

MONOCHROME DOESN’T HAVE TO BE BORING

Its’ simplistic style means that it is relatively easy to implement in subtle or bold ways, depending on your personal taste. Whether it is blankets, rugs or your furniture itself black and white is very on trend at the moment. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of colour alongside it though!

STATEMENT CUSHIONS

Following on from my last point, a popular way to have a splash of colour in the home is with a throw cushion or two. Tropical motifs are an excellent choice that will allow you to make a statement. Plus as they’re quite small it is unlikely that they will overwhelm the room and instead will offer a focal point (and will be comfortable too!)
