Travelling with a baby can seem daunting so I have rounded up some reasons to change your mind
THEY SLEEP A LOT
This may seem false at the time, but they really do, and we all know they tend to actually sleep better while we are on the move or with white noise and if you’re planning on taking a trip on a plane the aeroplane white noise is perfect at soothing your baby to sleep.
Although our first plane ride didn’t seem like it would be, it was probably the easiest age to fly. When they are babies they curl up on your lap quite contently, now Pollyanna is almost one and walking, I cannot imagine a flight with her, there is absolutely no way she would sit still.
If you’re going on a sunny holiday, they will sleep even more. I’m sure Pollyanna spent 70% off her time sleeping in Marrakech.
THE YOUNGER THE BETTER
As your baby gets older they need more. Once you start weaning the travelling does become a little harder. We did a
THEIR CLOTHES ARE SMALLER
If like me you like to pack a lot, when their tiny you won’t even need to bring an extra case, just roll up there items and they will squeeze in along with your own. You won’t need as many nappies or swim nappies as you think and you can buy these at the airport if you don’t have room.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE THE WHOLE NURSERY WITH YOU
I have seen some people on Instagram go away with practically the whole contents of their little one’s nursery and you don’t need to. We have travelled with Pollyanna from as young as four months, we didn’t take her sleepy head or big bottle steamers. You can order the milk to the airport so you don’t have to include that in with your luggage and we opted for a travel pushchair which was really helpful.
For luggage we use the American Tourister, I like that it can be pushed by my side and I am able to push it along with the pushchair.

THEY GO WITH THE FLOW
Our favourite part of holidays when Pollyanna was so little was we were able to go for dinner every single night, with Pollyanna by our side. She slept through live bands, fire shows and belly dancers. We don’t have a chance now.
They will go in the pool as often as you want them too and they won’t be asking for anything apart from milk.
GET THEM USED TO TRAVEL
It is so much better, personally to get them used to travel when they are young, as they get older they will less likely be afraid of things like flying.
