Or at least on silent and over. There is nothing more stressful than the bright light from the phone whilst you lay in bed trying to sleep, reminding you of your to-do list. I have been going to sleep with my phone on silent and turned over for such a long time. I was sick of the interrupted sleep from Instagram notifications or group texts.

READ SOMETHING YOU’VE HAD ON YOUR LIST
Reading is one of the best ways I destress, from picking up a magazine and being able to read one article or remembering to pick up a book before bed rather than my phone. It allows me to escape, something that my phone or TV won’t do for me. I’ve started leaving a book in the car too as I’ve found it to be the best time as Pollyanna is content.
DOWNLOAD HEADSPACE
This was quite new to me until recently, Headspace is a meditation app which allows you to meditate for as long or little as you want. It can also send you reminders because you will forget. I used this app a few times and found it helped me fall asleep quicker. I have just got out of the habit of using it, maybe I’ll give it another go.
LAUGH
Be around people who make you laugh or put on FRIENDS, that never fails to make me laugh out loud. Laughter has been found to lower stress levels. This is probably the best one; its easy, you don’t have to do anything and it’s free.
PUT THAT MUSIC ON
Music heals the soul. I always have music playing around the house. No matter what my mood music will always allow me to escape and destress. Create a playlist of your favourite songs, the louder the better, your mind won’t have time to stress.
TAKE A WALK
