HUNTING FOR DRIFTWOOD

What a way to spend a Saturday

This weekend, with a to-do list as long as my arms, we headed over to Whitstable in search for a piece of driftwood.

Whitstable is a seaside town on the north coast of Kent and is actually the town where Adam and I met three years ago.

It is a town we find ourselves going back to more and more each year. Firstly for our annual anniversary date, antique shopping or for the best fish and chips in Kent.

Before Pollyanna was born, we headed over in search of the perfect piece of driftwood for her nursery.
After looking online and not being able to find the right piece, I was sure we would never just stumble across some – but we did.

This time, I wanted a piece for above our new super king size bed from Wayfair.

Something similar to this image I saw on Pinterest;

However, we were unlucky this time.

Pollyanna had lots of fun running through the wind and chasing Blue

After a wind swept walk over the pebbled beaches, past the house like beach huts and white picket fences, a wet dog and a hungry toddler, we got a table at my favourite fish and chip restaurant – The Lobster Shack – I’ll do a post on that another time.

We had a little wait before we got seated, so Adam and Blue waited in line whilst Pollyanna and I watched as kids and adults flew their kites by the sea in the blustery high winds.

We greeted the three lobsters that guard the entrance waiting to be chosen by hungry visitors.

It wasn’t long before we were seated and food ordered.

Scampi and chips all round.
Hence why I shell save that post for a better order.

Im sure this is Blues favourite place too

The restaurant is always busy, so expect a little wait, but I promise you it is worth it.

Sea views whilst eating sea food, what more could you want

We may have left driftwood-less but our stomaches were full and we carried back the fresh sea air with us.

The bump was also pretty chuffed with himself to have had his favourite chips before arriving
