At the beginning of the month our baby boy turned one. We threw him a wonderful ‘Wild One’ safari themed party. Which I have to say, has been the best party I have done to date.
I’m going to be sharing with you all the details here in this post.
From what we all wore, decor, to games we played.
To start with we sent out personalised safari invites.

If you’ve been a reader for a while you will know I normally do it all myself. For Pollyanna’s first I tried my first balloon wall. This time I have teamed up with Noti & Co to help me out.
Over a few emails, I sent them some images I have saved onto my Pinterest board and their talented team brought all my visions to life.

They created the balloon installations, the number one balloon feature, a hot air balloon and added their own jungle wall.
Although it was a first birthday, I wanted it to look elegant still. Sometimes when you have a theme and can be very easy to go tacky. But Noti & Co got everything spot on.
We chose to go with a gold/nude colour scheme with a dash a baby blue and a hint of pampas grass.

They also created a beautiful hot air balloon which made for the perfect party photo opportunity.

This year I made the cake again. Taking me three days.
It was another Pinterest inspired item. I honestly don’t know where I would be without Pinterest. It is the key to my party planning.

For food I created a cheese board.
I also tried to get as many animal themed food as I could, twigs, gummy bears, teddy bear crisps, teddy bear bars and so on.
We had all the typical party food; sausage rolls, crisps, sweets and then I threw on mini pizzas and nuggets for the kids later on.

To dress the table Party Pieces offered the best selection of jungle theme items; jungle party hats, pecan napkins, crocodile party blowers.

Zebra, giraffe and leopard print balloons from Party Pieces floated above everyones heads.

Personalised safari biscuits from Tea Cups and Tandems, which tasted absolutely amazing. I also put these in the goody bags for the kids too.

People loved the personalised face banner and jungle cupcake topper, which had Alfie’s face and a jungle party hat.

The whole house was filled with teddy animals from Wingham Wildlife. Which all lived in the living room for the kids to play with. I made binoculars and a checklist and the kids had to go and find each animal.

Stacking cargo boxes 📦, we had a monkey piñata from Party Pieces, I covered the doors with green tissue paper and got the kids to crawl through like they were in a jungle.

Pollyanna wore a beautiful blue satin dress from Patachou.

The man of the hour wore a blue velvet bow tie suit, I swapped out the suit trousers and put jeans on, to add a little casual.

Showing off to everyone his new walking skills.
We sung happy birthday, led by Pollyanna, who helped blow out his candle.

All in all Alfie had a wonderful first birthday. He ended the day rubbing his eyes and content.
